I was checking out random shows and came across this, 07-13-89. I was familiar with the show, but gave it a closer listen. This show features a truly fantastic Cold Rain & Snow and I'm not sure I know of a better US Blues from the 80s, maybe with the exception of 09-15-85. Hornsby chimes in on squeezebox for TJed and Desolation Row, the results are a bit too zydeco for me...
The band sounds really good in this sbd of the first set and encore. T Lay Me Down and Let It Grow are also very well played. The second set is decent enough to check out on aud and has a very rare He's Gone opener of which you can distinctly hear Phil playing his 74 He's Gone bass lick in the tunings, before Garcia brings it back to 89...this period of summer/fall 89 had some really great Garcia performances both with the Dead and JGB
